Homelessness Statistics for Canadians

In Canada, homelessness paints a heartbreaking picture of a nation struggling with its own  inequities. Each year, over 235,000 individuals find themselves without a place to call home, their hopes and dreams overshadowed by the harsh reality of living on the streets or in temporary shelters. Behind each statistic is a person enduring profound loneliness, vulnerability, and uncertainty. Families and children are particularly affected, facing an endless cycle of instability that robs them of safety, warmth, and the chance to thrive. This crisis not only challenges our sense of justice but calls on us to act with compassion and urgency, ensuring that every Canadian can experience the dignity and security of a true home.

Between 25,000 and 35,000 people are homeless on any given night in
Canada.

Toronto has the most homeless people in Canada.
